Madeleine Gray is, first and foremost, a consumer of texts. It really doesn’t matter what the text is – she literally reads magazines cover to cover, including bad photo captions, because she has FOMO but about words.

She is a journalist, particularly interested in queer issues, intersectional feminism, and representations of both in novels and popular culture.

She is currently doing her PhD at Sydney University in English Literature, looking at the political affect enacted in reading contemporary, queer texts, especially as that relates to the position of readers within our digital, highly meta-textual age.
